To the Editor,
As Manchester prepares to celebrate America's 250th birthday, I would like to encourage my fellow residents to support our town's Fourth of July festivities.
Many people enjoy the annual parade and fireworks, but not everyone realizes that these cherished traditions depend heavily on private donations. This year, the costs are especially significant, with the July 3 fireworks display and July 4 parade requiring a combined budget of approximately $70,000. While the town provides some funding, the majority must be raised by the Fourth of July Committee through the generosity of local residents and supporters.
These events bring our community together, create lasting memories for families, and celebrate both our nation's history and Manchester's strong civic spirit. They are traditions worth preserving.
If you have already contributed, thank you. If not, I encourage you to consider making a tax-deductible donation to help ensure that this year's celebration is a success. Every contribution, large or small, helps keep these beloved community events alive. Thanks in advance for your support.
You could donate online https://unipaygold.unibank.com/transactioninfo.aspx, or send a check payable to "Manchester 4th of July" to: Manchester 4th of July, 10 Central Street, Manchester, MA 01944.
