Residents in Manchester-by-the-Sea and Essex gathered last Monday to honor the men and women who served in the nation’s armed forces and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Despite threatening weather, Manchester’s traditional Memorial Day observances—including the harbor ceremony, parade, and service at Rosedale Cemetery—proceeded outdoors as planned. In Essex, ceremonies were relocated indoors to the Public Safety Building on John Wise Avenue, where veterans, local officials, and community members joined in remembrance.
These photos capture moments from both communities as they observed one of the nation’s most solemn and meaningful holidays.
