As an old children’s television show song went, “Go, go go! You can’t go fast if you go too slow!” That was the theme last Friday for the packed Happy as a Clam Race and Walk, the wildly popular fundraiser held each year by the Essex Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization. These kiddos started the event with the “Fun Dash” before older particpants headed out for the 5K run. Food trucks, the Essex Clam mascot and onlookers rounded out the crowds at the Essex Elementary School playground.
