Patricia H. Fenton of Manchester-by-the-Sea passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at the age of 88.
Born in Albany, Georgia, Pat made Manchester-by-the-Sea her beloved home for over 60 years. She was predeceased by her husband, James B. Fenton, and leaves behind a family who adored her: her four children, Guy David Laughridge, Timothy Laughridge, Pila Pexton, and Tyler Laughridge; her son-in-law Peter Pexton; three daughters-in-law, Suzanne, Cindy, Liga and her cherished grandchildren Dylan, Alden, and Lillian Pexton.
Pat was a woman’s woman—beautiful, successful, independent, and effortlessly cool. She had a powerful presence: lovely, direct, and always authentic. Her friends and clients alike admired her for her honesty, her impeccable taste, and her ability to make anyone feel at ease.
For over 51 years, Pat was a standout figure in North Shore real estate. Her passion and professionalism left an indelible mark on the community. She took immense pride in helping generations of families find their homes, guiding them with care, wisdom, and integrity.
Pat also gave generously of her time, serving as president of the Manchester Women’s Club and volunteering to ensure the town’s holiday Friendship Tree lighting tradition continued in full sparkle. Pat had a passion for consuming knowledge through reading constantly. She was a favorite visitor of the Manchester Public Library, and enjoyed donating her spare time volunteering, supporting the libraries many programs. She fed her love of the arts by volunteering as an usher at the Shalin Lin Performance Center
From the time she was four years old, Pat was an avid equestrian, always happiest in the saddle. She balanced her fierce work ethic with a deep love of travel, exploring the world with a sense of adventure and style—Paris, in particular, held a special place in her heart.
To know Pat was to admire her strength, grace, and vibrant spirit. She lived life with elegance, purpose, and joy.
A celebration of Pat’s remarkable life will be held the afternoon of July 3 at Tuck’s Point in Manchester-by-the-Sea. All who knew and loved her are warmly invited to attend.
