To the Editor,
There are eight state-wide and local district offices on your ballot for the vote on November 3. They include Governor, state senator and representative.
We will also be voting on nine (count em!) ballot questions that could become law.
I ask that each candidate for state-wide and local district office state their preference on each of these nine ballot questions. If these candidates want leadership positions in our state, they should demonstrate their capability to make sound decisions and their willingness to “go public” on their decisions.
Some people believe that referendums like these nine should go first to the legislature for their vote or at least recommendation before going to the voters.
Someone said democracy is an awful form of government, but it’s better than all the others. I agree with that and I think the elected leadership should be transparent and accountable to the voters. Let’s see if the candidates have the courage to state their positions on these nine questions.
