Off at School and Doing Great! Fall 2024 Dean's Lists

Local students enrolled in college are well into their spring semester of the academic year, and now is the time that colleges and universities across the country announce last semester’s successes from local students.  We’re happy to see that so many are doing well and have achieved academic honors:
 
Two Manchester residents, Carson Komishane (Class of 2026) and Olga Gadmer Langman (Class of 2027) have been named to the Dean’s list for the 2024 fall semester at Tufts University in Medford.  Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.  Tufts University is recognized among the premier research universities in the US with a global reputation for academic excellence.
 
Avari Litka of Manchester was named to the Dean's List during the Fall 2024 academic semester at Salve Regina University.  This means Avari earned a grade point average of 3.6 or higher and completed at least 12 graded credits.  Located in Newport, RI, Salve Regina University is a Catholic, coeducational institution of higher education founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1947.  The school has more than 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students and offers 48 undergraduate majors, nine master's degree programs, combined bachelor's/master's programs, and doctoral programs.
 
At the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA, George Angus Brown (majoring in Computer Science and Math) of Manchester has been named to the school’s dean’s list.  Undergraduate students who have completed at least 12 credit hours and earned a 3.6 GPA in one semester qualify for this distinction.  Founded in 1693, William & Mary is a "Public Ivy" — one of only eight in the nation — that offers a world-class education at an exceptional value.
 
Aidan Nunes of Essex has been named to the Dean's list for the Fall 2024 semester at Quinnipiac University.  To qualify for the Dean's list, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C.  Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester.
 
At Fairfield University in Connecticut, Connor Burke Manchester was named to the school’s Dean’s List Honors for the Fall 2024 semester.  In order to be placed on the Dean's List, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester, have no outstanding or incomplete grades for that semester, and have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better.
 
Chris K. Siems, of Manchester was named to first honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2024 semester.
Students must have a GPA between 3.50 and above for these honors.  Founded in 1887, Worcester-based Clark University is a liberal arts-based research university that prepares its students to meet tomorrow's most daunting challenges and embrace its greatest opportunities.
 
Jennifer Baker from Essex was named to the Dean's list for the fall 2024 semester at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH.  To be eligible for this honor, a student must have achieved a grade point average of 3.4 or better in the semester with at least 12 credits of study which award a letter grade.  A total of 622 students representing 23 states and four countries were named.  Founded in 1889, Saint Anselm College is a four-year liberal arts college providing a 21st Century education in the Catholic, Benedictine tradition.
 
Manchester’s Madeline Machain of Manchester has been named to the Plymouth State University Dean's list for the fall 2024 semester. To be named to the Dean's list, a student must achieve a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.69 during the fall 2024 semester and must have completed at least 12 credit hours during the semester.  Machain is majoring in Elementary Education and Youth Development.  Established in 1871 and based in New Hampshire, Plymouth State offers both undergraduate and graduate education.
 
Morgan Laspesa of Manchester excelled during the fall 2024 semester at Hofstra, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean's list.  Morgan's major is Sports Management.  Based in New York, Hofstra University provides a quality education in an environment that encourages, nurtures, and supports learning.  At Hofstra, new ideas take shape through collaboration, engagement, and interaction.
 
Bucknell University has announced that three local residents have been named to its Dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2024-25 academic year.  Henry Thurlow of Essex, Class of 2028, majoring in Mechanical Engineering; Luke Domoracki of Manchester, Class of 2026, majoring in Political Science; and Maren Graves of Manchester, Class of 2027, major undeclared.  At Bucknell, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher to receive dean's list recognition.
Tommy Bowen of Manchester has been named to the fall 2024 Dean's list at Roger Williams University, in Bristol, R.I.  Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's list that semester.  Roger Williams University is a comprehensive university with a liberal arts core and professional programs, with campuses on the coast of Bristol and in the state capital of Providence.
 
Shannon McHale of Manchester has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's (SNHU) fall 2024 President's List.  The fall terms run from September to December.  Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List.  Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
 
Endicott College, the first college in the U.S. to require internships of its students, has announced its fall 2024 Dean's list students.  From Essex, Anthony Altieri, Nadine Altieri, Anthony Altieri Emily Fossa, Wendy Fossa, Joseph Fossa, Brady Gagnon, Lindsay Gagnon, Richard Gagnon, Andrew Griffin, Nicole Griffin, David Griffin, Abigail Taron, Barbara Taron, and Christopher Taron.  From Manchester, Natasha Akerley, Elizabeth Akerley, Edward Akerley, Molly Machain, Jennifer Cochand, Margaret Redinbo, Emily Redinbo and Greg Redinbo.  In order to qualify for the Dean's list at Endicott, a student must obtain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, receive no letter grade below "C," have no withdrawal grades, and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for the semester.
 
College of Charleston congratulates over 3,750 students named to the President's List and the Dean's list for Winter 2024.  From Manchester, Charlotte Ward (majoring in Communication) was named to the president's list; Emma Fitzgerald (majoring in Marketing); and Gracie Susko (majoring in Exercise Science) were named to the school’s dean’s list.  Located in the heart of historic Charleston, South Carolin and founded in 1770a, the College of Charleston is a nationally recognized, public liberal arts and sciences university.
 
Local secondary private schools have also announced honors for the academic quarter that ended last month, including:
  
St. John’s Prep announced the names of the following Manchester and Essex students who earned academic honors for the second quarter of the 2024–2025 school year.  Students who qualified for the Head of School’s List earned grades of A- or above in all courses; for the Principal’s List earned grades of B+ or above in all courses; and for the Honor Roll earned grades of B or above in all courses.
