Evelyn M. (Burbank) Marshall, 89, affectionately known as “Pete” passed away on November 12, 2024, spending her last days at home with her family by her side.  She was born in Ipswich, MA to her late parents, Raymond and Beatrice (Henley) Burbank.
Evelyn was raised in Manchester, MA and lived much of her life at her home on Pine Street where she entertained family and friends during the annual 4th of July parade for the past 64 years.  She loved living in Manchester and often said how grateful she was to have lived in such a beautiful town.
She graduated from Manchester’s Story High School in 1953 and went on to work at Parker Brothers in Salem, MA.  She was known by many from her years waitressing at The Surf and working in town as the office manager for Samuel Ina DMD.  She married her loving husband Bob in 1956.  They first lived in Beverly returning to their hometown of Manchester where they bought their house on Pine Street and where she lived until her passing.
Evelyn enjoyed life to its fullest.  She always kept active playing tennis in her younger years and taking up golf in retirement.  She enjoyed working in her yard and gardens and cooking Sunday dinners for her family.  She enjoyed her travels to California, Hawaii, Washington DC, the Bahamas, Caribbean cruises and Disney World with her family and friends and spending many winters in Ft. Myers, FL with Dick.
She had many friends from her childhood and throughout her life that brought her great joy whom she spoke of often and missed dearly.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and an adoring grandmother who will be missed beyond words.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Jay Marshall of Manchester, MA; Susan Marshall of Gloucester, MA; Lisa Marshall of Norwood, MA; Linda Marshall of Alexandria VA; and Mark Marshall of Haverhill, MA; her granddaughters, Amy Fitzgerald, Kaitlin McCall, and Erin Warren.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Jane Burbank and Marylyn Forward; “son-in-law” Kevin Fitzgerald; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 26 years Robert (“Bob”) Marshall.  She was also predeceased by her brother, Raymond Burbank, Jr.; sister, Valerie Symonds; and her longtime companion, Richard (“Dick”) Brodowski.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 128 Pine Street, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
