To the Editor,
Led by municipally appointed volunteers, the Manchester-by-the-Sea Cultural Council awards grants every year to support programs that include everything from field trips to STEM initiatives to visual arts events to lectures and musical programs. These grants are funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Grant applications for FY26 have been awarded to a variety of organizations, including The Manchester Public Library, Manchester Museum, The Delvena Theatre Company, Kestrel Educational Adventures, The Manchester Memorial PTO, First Parish Church and more.
Your Cultural Council volunteers, Miranda Gaudet, Chair, Martha Chapman, Linda Crosby, Debbie Pine, Kate Reed, and Marion Powers, all Manchester residents, are excited to begin a new year promoting and supporting arts and culture in our town, and we are asking for your help! We are drafting a community survey, hoping to obtain input and guidance from people with an interest in Manchester’s cultural life - town residents as well as people who work in town. This survey will help us to set our priorities, for this grant cycle and in the future.
The mission of the Massachusetts Cultural Council is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences in order to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and contribute to the economic vitality of towns and communities.
Please point your browser on the link below to access our survey and take a few minutes to fill it out - your input is important!
