Bernice Magee died peacefully at Seacoast Medical Center in Gloucester on Friday, October 4th.  Bea was 94 years old.  She was born in Winchester, New Hampshire on July 2, 1930 and grew up there with parents Henry and Velda and siblings Joseph, Thomas and Doris.  Bea moved to Manchester in her early years and stayed for the rest of her life except her last two years at Putnam Farms in Danvers.

For close to twenty years Bea babysat for two different young families.  Afterwards, she moved into the center of town and could often be found house sitting or dog sitting for a number of families.  In addition, she worked at Allen's Pharmacy as well as the Sandpiper shop.  In both roles she met many residents of Manchester whom she considered to be her friends. Throughout her life Bea was especially close to the Brown family and was a frequent guest at their family dinner table.

She often introduced herself as, "Hi, l'm Bea Magee from Manchester-by-the Sea!"  She was so proud of her town.  She was passionate for her friends and dedicated to helping her neighbors.  She loved cats, dogs, and nature in general.  Bea will be missed by many, especially the Herter family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a gift to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930. Online memories can be shared at www.campbellfuneral.com.   At Bea's request, there will not be a memorial service.  She would prefer you think of her when you look out over the ocean on a sunny day.
