The works of local photographer Melissa Cox have been selected for a month-long exhibit at BankGloucester in Gloucester starting on Tuesday, July 2.  The show will continue through Friday, August 30 in BankGloucester’s main lobby at 160 Main Street in Gloucester.

This public showing is a great opportunity to personally view and enjoy some of Melissa’s wonderful and unique pieces. A public reception will be held on Saturday, July 13th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, giving guests a chance to meet the artist and ask questions.

Melissa Cox, resident of Gloucester and local freelance photographer, has been taking pictures since high school and recently found her love of nautical, architectural and landscape photography. She loves being out on the water taking pictures of ships, whales and sunsets.  When she’s not at work or traveling you can usually find her taking pictures of our photogenic Cape Ann.

Melissa is a member at Rockport Art Association, Marblehead Art Association and SeArts. She has received numerous awards at Newburyport Art Association and Rockport Art Association. Her work can be found at Local Colors Co-Op in downtown Gloucester. Her picture “Waiting to Row” was selected for the cover on Discover Gloucester’s guidebook for the 2020 season and most recently the 2024 cover of Discover Gloucester with “Looking Aft”.

All pictures in this show can be produced in different sizes on canvas, metal or traditional framing. Special orders are always welcome!
