It’s time for the annual Blackburn Brewfest. The second annual event is back and, organizers say, it’s better than ever and scheduled to take place from 1 - 5 p.m. Saturday, September 21 at Gloucester’s Stage Fort Park in Gloucester. The 21+ event will feature craft beer, hard cider, food, and entertainment—all from local talent and vendors. The festival—named in honor of Howard Blackburn, a local Gloucester legend and spirited barkeeper from the late 1800s—is organized by the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce and its Next Gen Young Professionals Committee. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Cape Ann Community Foundation to fund grants for local nonprofit organizations.
This year’s festival will showcase over 25 breweries, offering a diverse selection of craft beers and ciders for all to enjoy. In addition to the fantastic brews, a variety of food trucks will be on hand, serving everything from savory snacks to sweet treats. Food trucks include 5 Star Phresh Phood, The Lobster Roller, Marley’s Good Eats, Meat & Sweet Foods, Riverview Pizza and The Whoopie Pie Wagon. Festivalgoers can also enjoy lawn games, making it a perfect day out with friends, and live music performances will set the mood for an unforgettable afternoon. Only 2,000 tickets are available for this year’s Blackburn Brewfest, so attendees are encouraged to secure their tickets early to avoid missing out. Tickets can be purchased online at www.blackburnbrewfest.com.
