I am writing on behalf of the millions of creatures that live in our yards in the decaying leaves and soil under our trees and bushes. They have no voice so I am calling out to the people of Manchester on their behalf.
Please instruct your landscapers to leave leaves under trees and bushes. It provides
protection from the cold in the winter and provides nourishment for all sorts of organisms that we may not even know. Blowing off this protection and the rich topsoil in our yards has negative consequences for the larger ecosystem that we humans are also part of.
Let’s take care of each other.
